What You'll Be Responsible For as a Carpenter Apprentice

1. Gain Hands-On Experience to Grow into a Master Craftsman: Starting on the path to becoming a master craftsman begins with gaining real, hands-on experience alongside seasoned professionals. This involves actively seeking knowledge by asking questions, requesting feedback, and putting new skills and techniques into practice. Each day is an opportunity to learn and apply the proper techniques and essential safety practices that keep both you and your work in top shape. Training courses provide a foundation, but the real growth comes from applying that knowledge on the job, enabling you to build confidence and develop skills critical to advancing in the trade.

2. Assistance in Project Completion: Working closely with your Project Lead is key to building a strong foundation in all stages of the remodeling process. From initial estimating and job preparation to demolition, construction, installation, and finishing work, you'll support your lead by following directions carefully, completing small tasks accurately, and steadily growing in your independence. Anticipating the Project Lead's needs is a powerful way to gain insight into project management, make meaningful contributions, and foster a proactive, team-centered work approach.

3. Worksite and Van Organization: A well-maintained worksite and vehicle are essential for efficiency and professionalism on the job. By helping to keep the workspace clean and organized, you contribute to a safer, more productive environment where tools and materials are easy to locate and use. Transporting materials and tools to and from job sites as needed ensures each project has what it needs to proceed smoothly. Additionally, by cleaning and maintaining the company van, you uphold the standards of care and professionalism that clients expect from the company.

Qualifications for the Carpenter Apprentice

To succeed in this role, you need these core competencies:

• Mechanically mind, emotional intelligence, go-getter and positive attitude
• A strong desire to pursue and grow in a remodeling career (No prior experience in construction is required)
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks (i.e., lifting heavy objects, climb ladders)
• Strong teamwork and communication skills
• Reliable and a strong work ethic 
• A good question-asker with a desire to learn 
• A heart to serve and support others
• Agreement and alignment with our core values
• Basic knowledge of hand and power tools is a plus
